The Plone open source software community will hold the 3rd annual World Plone Day (WPD) on April 28, 2010. Seattle Plone is happy to announce that we'll also be participating in this event. WPD is an day of events held around the globe to spread awareness of Plone, a free and open source Internet publishing system that combines web content management, social software, collaboration and enterprise portal features.
This "follow the sun" event is a global initiative by user groups, developers and Plone integration companies. Previous WPDs have featured over a hundred local events around the Globe, and previous Seattle events have been attended by as many as 60 people.
This year, the Seattle community has decided to get together for drinks and snacks at the Alibi room in Pike Street Market to talk about Plone and share their current war stories. Please feel free to invite anyone (tweet, blog, etc.) that might be interested in learning more about Plone in an open and relaxed environment. We're also hoping that fresh new Seattle Plone tshirts will be finished by that date and that we'll be able to hand them out.
NOTE: The event will start a little earlier than our usual meetings, partly because it's more fun that way, and partly because we hope that people with other obligations might be able to swing by for a short while.
See you at the Alibi room!
