We've got two great Plone case studies lined up from Melody and Cris for May's Seattle Plone meeting. Both were recently delivered at the Plone Symposium East 2008 conference to very positive feedback, so hopefully you're able to attend. More info on the talks and logistics below.

Agenda

  • Plone on a Budget: How we do it in UW Technology at the University of Washington - Plone can look scary and expensive to a university department with a low budget. How do you know if you'll be able to handle it? A look at some tips and tricks for success when you don't have as many resources as you'd like. This presentation will cover ideas on where to save in development, skinning, add-on products, training, documentation, and more. Also includes a discussion of how to participate in the community. (Melody Winkle)
  • Migrations and Migraines: a case study from UW Radiology - Designing a website to fill the diverse needs of a organization with 14 academic sections, 13 research groups and centers, 5 clinical sites, nearly 700 employees and an unbelievably byzantine administration was no easy task. Migrating existing content from nearly 20 existing sites proved to be even more challenging. Now that the site is live and running, what lessons have I learned and what would I do differently next time? Tune in to find out all about it. (Cris Ewing)
  • Lightning Talks, open Q&A (as time allows)

We're looking forward to seeing everyone,

Brian & Andrew
