When we first started meeting as Seattle Plone in 2005, Andy McKay,
traveled from Vancouver, BC to join our meeting. Shortly thereafter,
he gave a talk. Among other things, Andy had just released the
Definitive Guide to Plone which was the first published book about
Plone and did loads to help on the documentation front.
After several years in England, Andy has just recently relocated
back to Vancouver and has offered to come talk to us once again.
Please join Seattle Plone in welcoming Andy back to the area on 2/25
for what is sure to be a fantastic talk!
AGENDA
Content Mirror and Plone
Content Mirror is a facility for writing content from a Plone site to a
relational database. It features out of the box support for all Plone's
default content types, and generically supports supports any
Archetype-based content using the standard archetypes fields.
While noteworthy in itself, things get interesting when you
consider the capabilities such as collaborating with developers of
other Python web frameworks and/or using other systems to serve content
that's authored in Plone.
Andy will provide an overview of the capabilities and compare/contrast with other approaches.
Speaker: Andy McKay, Clearwind Consulting
Lightning Talks
In addition to others, hopefully we can get Andy to give an overview of his current projects which include Clouseau, Cleartrain, and Arecibo.
